The fear is not the reality, it’s the way things go. Once we learn to control our thoughts, we can live more consciously. We can think before we act, we can think about things a little differently than we used to, we can think about our mistakes before we’ve committed them, and we can think about the consequences of our actions before we’ve even committed them.
The world is so much bigger than you think it is. If you and I could be one person, we would have been perfect. But now we have more people like us who would just be perfect if we could be one person. You see, we don’t want everyone to be perfect, we don’t want everyone to be perfect, but we want to be perfect.
The reason we think we are perfect is because we are. Just imagine if we could be one person. It would be so much easier, and we would be a lot happier. For some of us, that desire is so strong that we can’t imagine life without it.
